Intro to Lou Krieger

While his father played his
weekly poker game, the seven year old
Lou Krieger watched and learned the game of poker. During high school and
college he managed to easily adapt and kept his head above water during
the many poker games he played.
But it wasn't until his
first visit to Las Vegas that Lou
took poker seriously. He thought of Blackjack as a boring game and he knew the odds were against the players shooting dice or
playing any of the other table games. Then Lou discovered a poker table
into a small corner of the Desert Inn where we were staying. He
bought into a low-limit 7 card stud game and managed to break even. While
playing the stud game he noticed another poker game that was played on
another table. It was Texas Holdem Poker.
He left the stud game,
watched the Texas Holdem game for about half an hour, and sat down to play.
One hour and $100 later, he was hooked. It was the
first time he played the game and he didn't mind losing. But he didn't like
feeling like a dummy, so he bought every book on poker that he could find.
He kept studying and
playing. Soon he was winning regularly. He didn't have a losing year since
he began keeping records.
Lou Krieger is now a well
known poker pro that writes columns and is the co-author of the book
'Poker for Dummies'.
